The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has revealed that the winners of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League will receive a record cash prize of GHC2 million.
The announcement was made during the 31st Ordinary Congress of the GFA at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. According to the GFA President, the new prize structure is designed to reward excellence and boost competitiveness across the league.
The runners-up will receive GHC1 million, while third and fourth places will earn GHC800,000 and GHC750,000 respectively. Clubs finishing from fifth to fifteenth will also benefit from financial rewards, ensuring strong incentives across the competition.

The 2025/26 Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on September 12, with FC Samartex 1996 and the other GPL clubs preparing for what promises to be one of the most competitive campaigns in recent years.
This historic financial package forms part of the GFA’s strategy to strengthen the league’s commercial appeal and sustainability, while motivating teams to deliver top-class performances.
