GFA and betPawa Enhance Partnership; Locker Room Bonus Extended to Women’s Premier League
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced an enhanced partnership with betPawa, introducing the popular Locker Room Bonus to the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League for the first time.
Under this initiative, every player who features in the matchday squad of a winning team will receive a GH₵400 Locker Room Bonus. This bonus, already a part of the betPawa Premier League since its inception, has now been extended to benefit female players as well.
The move has been welcomed by players across the Women’s League, with Beauty Abena Julius, captain of Faith Ladies and current Women’s FA Cup champion, commending the GFA and betPawa for recognizing the efforts of women footballers.
betPawa is set to invest approximately $380,843 (about GHS 4 million) across both the men’s and women’s leagues for the 2025/26 football season.
The 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, which will feature newly promoted FC Samartex Ladies, is expected to kick off in October 2025, with the Locker Room Bonus active from Matchday One.
