FC Samartex 1996 were held to a 1–1 draw by regional rivals Karela United in an intense contest on Sunday.

Karela struck first in the 19th minute through Zaidan Mohammed, who finished off a swift attacking move to give the visitors an early lead.

The Timber Giants, however, showed resilience and kept pushing forward. The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when Samuel Tetteh calmly slotted home the equalizer, sending the home fans into celebration.

Despite creating further chances, Samartex could not find the winning goal before the final whistle, as both sides settled for a share of the points.
